It was the best equipment we had and it worked. Can you learn on it. Yes
But the boards weighed a ton. Were 12 foot long. You had to tie on the boom. The mast was heavy and made from fiberglass. Most sails had no battens. Was it sq. feet or sq. meters. Every brand had a different way to connect the sail to the board.
The question was: Is this equipment a good deal. Value for the Money.
The bottom line is no. To old. Difficult at best to use and put together. Broken parts hard to find. Someone else mention a windsurf swap meet.
His hard earned cash would better spent at one of these. Most of the guys I sail with get new gear every few years. They sell quality used gear at a fraction of the cost. Most are more than willing to help a new guy get on the right gear. Even giving it away. Nice way to make a new friend and potential sailing buddy. |
