Ok Should I replace my 2010 ezzy panthers for 2013 ezzy panthers ? I do believe in new sais every three to four years. Or should I use these up?
Not taking the price of the 2013 sails or the value of 2010 in consideration. Is there noticeable improvement? Of course we are talking 3.7 to 4.7 sizes. |

Before upgrading try the Elites. You may like them even more than the panthers. |

Don't change sails you love.New sails aren't always better for you in particular. They can actually be worse. If a sail works great sail it into the ground and spend your money on trips, camps, or lessons. |

I love the 4 batten Ezzy Elite for Gorge sailing. They feel a size smaller in your hands than the older 5 batten sails.
Ezzy just released a 3 batten wave sail, so I see the 4 batten becoming the standard for bump and jump, and 5 batten sails becoming the norm for freeride and slalom. |

This ^^^ I have both, and I like the Elites better, lighter feeling and they have more range. |

Also thinking about updating 5.8 Panther to a 5.7 Elite and 6.9 Panther to a 6.9 Tiger. Hesitating because not sure it will be all that much better performance. Understand big difference between 4 and 5 batten (5.8 to 5.7 Elite). Anyone done this and can compare? Howz abt 6.9 Panther to 6.9 Tiger? Much of a difference?
Not sure I agree about using stuff until it's trashed if there is an option for appreciable improvement by updating. OTOH, the Panthers are great and will only be replaced if it's really worth it. Part of this is the Panthers, as well as all Ezzys, have GREAT resale value, even more so in the large sizes in great condition, which results in very reasonable net costs for new sails.
Anyone done this and can comment? |

Like i said i did replace my 2009, 6.9 Panther with a 2014 6.9 tiger.
The low wind range is about the same for me just it come's on much
Smoother, not hitting as hard. We're the big improvement i think is in the
Top end it handle's gust and more wind a lot better. Over all if fill liter and
E/z to handle. I am 205 and use it from 18 to hi 20 on a 106lt board.
Hope this helps |

prolly shoulda read your previous post where you gave a great description. That helps a lot! and after speaking with another long time Ezzy guy, he described it as a finesse/maneuverability v stability issue. I'm going for the 5.8 Elite and 6.9 Tiger. |

I have a 5.7 Elite, the first year they made them, the 5.7 was the biggest they offered, not sure about this year's model in terms to the biggest size offered.
What I really like about it is that I can use it all the way up to 4.7 wind w/o feeling like I was loosing control, love that kind of range. I couldn't do it as easily on the Panther (now called the Tiger), close, but not quite.
All my smaller sails are Panther III's, which I still love. |
