Has anybody gotten a 2014 issue of windsport? I hope they didn't go out of business.

Uh oh! I just renewed my subscription assuming that it had run out. That could have been a nice bottle of tequila.

got mine, but then again, I live in Canada Smile

has a 2014 equipment review
for me same issues as 2013
there is NO Tabou
some sails are in one category and belong (perhaps) in another
entry rather than free-ride, cambered rather than not, etc ...

my bigger complaint about the whole industry is lack of longboards
i am a "longboard advocate" and am thrilled the KONA made it - in entry ?
also, longboards besides being few and far between - cost too much Sad
sails for lighter winds require tighter leeches and are also not readily available

am also thrilled that WindSUPs are helping put windsurfing back on the map

i do love my WindSport magazine and this is merely meant to be positive criticism - from my perspective Smile

actually - i should be VERY happy - the 2014 equipment review seems addressed at "Average Joe windsurfer" {in CAPS} and that's me Very Happy
as indicated on my blog header Smile

I subscribed last fall, haven't received anything yet. Hope they can restart soon (you don't realize how much you miss something until it's gone).

I'm absolutely backing you on the lack of longboard promotion. I know a lot of intermediates struggle in the light winds up to 15mph-especially those who live inland and sail on small lakes. They get mislead that big rigs and early planing short boards will magically solve theyr light wind problems, invest big money, straggle even more and get badly disappointed. Whereas longboards/Windsups etc are less work and investment and let you have fun planing or not-it's all in the mindset. I went through the same process and I wish somebody saved me all the hassle, time and expenses. If I would have listened is a different question though Sad
Btw do you get ridiculed for emoticons overuse?! I have been-some simpleminded folks on this forum don't understand that we foreigners/ non native English speakers feel insecure if we will be understood correctly and use emoticons to make our point more clearly.

I'm right there with you. Especially on lakes with swirly winds! Lots of fun to be had (and much easier to get back to the launch) on a longboard. I'll never get rid of my Superlight.
