NO there were no coast guard rescues at TI. I did take a convenient sailboat ride back to the cove. It dropped quickly and it was a long slog. I got dropped by a passing sailboat that went upwind of me. NICE. There may have been some swearing!!! There was a second sailboat that saw me struggling to waterstart and sailed right over and offered assistance. I took it. If they hadn't been there I do believe there were enough puffs coming through that I would have gotten up and been able to slog in. I have some documented experience in that regard. As pointed out by Koogzah, he managed to slog from even further out and the three of us onshore helped him come in at the pipes. One other reminder is that the tide charts are for general information only. When Bob and I launched at a time the graph showed it should have been ebbing, it was still flooding. I'm surprised our slogging out toward Point Isabel didn't convince you to join us. Very Happy The sailing out at Bouy #6 and then upwind at #4 was quite good.
