No offense taken. I live on a boat at the end of a dock that faces San Diego bay. I'm just feet away from some decent lightwind windsurfing. Before I bugger up my gear I thought I'd ask to see if anyone has come up with a clever way of rigging that I might not have thought of. |

Sailboats are the toughest to rig windsurf gear on. I lived on a 25' Tanzer for a while, sailed up to RaccoonStraits, and tried to rig my 4.7. 1/2 hour later, it was finally ready for water. That's about 20 minutes longer than I normally need to rig any sail. |

Dan,
We only launch off docks in Belize for thirty years now. Shore launches are dangerous because of sea creatures you can step on.
A water bottle full of sand with a short line attached can often be rigged from beach junk.
It isn't safe to tie a sail to a dock lightly.
It hits the dock moving around in the wind.
We always drop it in the water attached to the bottle.
Effortless and don't need to bring anything but some water to drink. |
