So why do the Teas vote for these folks?
Why do they accept millions from the Kochs and others like them?
I am one of the few people who see the Teas as something other than the examples of their chosen holders of the megaphones.
They are failing to be grassroots reformers because of their chosen leaders.
Why continue to choose the same fools?
We really need a grassroots to rise up.
These have seemingly fallen by the wayside because of bad judgement at the polls. This is the exact reason why a grassroots reform is needed.
Bad judgement on the part of voters for many years.
How are the teas different away from their rhetoric?

Good question KC. Most people ignore, or over-simplify politics. They mistrust the status quo, with good reason. So the noisy few, and the wealthy who contribute expecting government help, dominate policy setting.

As Ben Franklin said, A republic if you can keep it. It takes real participation. In the Bay Area that Teas that I've seen, and I've seen quite a few, are the right wing back-benchers at City Council and County Board of Supervisor meetings. They speak only to each other, shout down other voices, and listen only to talk radio. They have an overwhelming paranoia, without doing their homework to understand what government does, and distinguish between what is essential and what should be eliminated or at least reformed.

The problem is that government, like all institutions, takes on a life of its own, and must constantly be reformed. That takes engagement, and effective engagement takes understanding and knowledge. Perhaps a little deeper than Iso and Bard's hating on EPA. Most people want clean air, clean water, and protection of valuable habitat. Finding better ways is hard work, and most people just don't do it.

Much easier to write additional regs than change them.

Well, I agree on one issue. There is too much money in the election process. This disastrous government slithers like a serpent with a will of its own. Like a half a million people in one spot. When one guy sneezes in the middle, waves push out in all direction for miles.

We need to end this mess. It is too complicated.

The Teas seemed perfect to lead us and may have been until they cashed their first check from the Kochs and other oligarchs.
