I really appreciate the advice guys. The guy said he would hold it for me for 2 days... but he decided to sell it all instead. Evil or Very Mad I did end up getting a chance at another smilier set-up only difference is now I need the parts to connect the mast to the board Question and a boom :/ but he did give me a selection of boards and sails. Smile all for $200

Dose anyone know what kind of parts I need and a place to get them online? None of the shops around here sell Wind boarding equipment.

Too bad the earlier equipment was sold before you could pick it up. The other four boards pictured are not something that you should buy. They are very old and not really suitable for learning the sport. Look for something with a daggerboard like the F2 Phoenix you missed, a classic longboard with daggerboard, or some of the later model wide-style boards like the Starboard Go or Rio. Remember, volume and width can be your friend learning the sport. Also, if you can, try to look for a complete kit that includes everything. Buying different components piecemeal can be tougher to do, and it would tend to be more costly. However, if you can find the perfect board, you might just pick it up and concentrate on the sail, mast, boom, mast extension and universal components later. Later model sails and components are best (2000 and later), and you should make sure that any boom is a clamp-on design.

Nathan-

Bummer that you didn't get the first batch of stuff in time. That F2 Phoenix longboard and 3.5 sail would really have been a good setup for a lightweight novice.

The new batch of gear doesn't look good for a beginner because all the boards and small and narrow and none of them have a daggerboard. Even if you're light weight, you still need a fairly big board with a daggerboard to windsurf in light winds. Or any winds if you're a beginner.

I'd hold out for a board with a daggerboard.

Those boards look too old to work with modern sails, mast track too far forward.
