Perry forced an ethics investigator who was looking into money gone the wrong places, to buddies of Perry, out of her job by taking away the money from the whole investigation unit.
She got a drunk driving charge so he asked her to quit her job and end the investigation.
She was perhaps the first. Texas public official to be asked to resign for a DUI.
Other famous drunks in Texas include Perry who was filmed falling off the stage at has presidential rally, and in drunken interviews on the news.
Gov. Bush got a DUI.
Two of Perry buddies got DUI. Many republican legislators got DUIs.
None of them were investigating corruption in the Texas Gov so they were OK.
Perry says it is partisan. The judge in charge is a Republican appointed by Perry. The committee bringing charges are well known honest GOP.
Most of those caught by this ethics committee were Dems, but now it was the turn of Perry's friends and he halted that in its tracks. |

Those glasses clearly raise Perry's IQ by, oh, maybe zero points.
Oops.

It wasn't about the DUI. It was about being 3 times the legal limit, spitting on cops, threatening them that she was a prosecutor and could have their jobs.

From Business Insider:
"Perry, who is looking at running for president in 2016, was indicted by a Texas grand jury on the allegation that he improperly tried to coerce a district attorney's resignation after she was arrested for drunk driving. Perry ultimately followed through in his threat to cut her agency's funding, which both Axelrod and Dershowitz have said was perfectly acceptable to do under Texas law.
"Unless he was demonstrably trying to scrap the ethics unit for other than his stated reason," Axelrod on Twitter Saturday, "Perry indictment seems pretty sketchy."
Speaking in a recent interview with Newsmax, Dershowitz, who reportedly calls himself a "liberal Democrat who would never vote for Rick Perry," declared he was "outraged" over the indictment.
"Everybody, liberal or conservative, should stand against this indictment," Dershowitz said. "If you don't like how Rick Perry uses his office, don't vote for him." |

The right wing loves bullies. Move along, no crime here, just a little old fashioned payback. Is Perry just the skinny one? |

Gybe has great respect for the opinion of Democrats when they agree with him, and utter contempt for their opinions when they don't.
I am basing my view on the opinion of the conservative Judge that Perry appointed and the republican prosecutor that judge appointed.
The committee is also completely dominated by Republicans.
Are all of these GOP Perry supporters engaging in a liberal partisan attack on a man they supported before his actions reached the level of a crime?
Does their opinion have any weight with you Gybe or do you prefer to ask only select Dems this time, since they agree with the opinion you chose in advance of any facts? |

Unless the trial by media involves Perry? After all, he sent all those armed thugs down to the border to kill kids didn't he? |

I have to wonder whether this indictment was suggested directly from the White House. Obama's pre-presidential state election records demonstrate a clear pattern of sweeping elections by disqualifying his opponents via the courts rather than by the old-fashioned way: winning more votes. |
