Hmm, the GOP cut foreign aid and Center for Disease Control funding. But liberals are to blame. At least mrgybe knows what he is talking about when he uses the term sanctimonious.

Seriously, the only place to stop Ebola is in Africa. The GOP has done nothing but pander to the talk radio pundits and argue to close the border--all of which will make the problem worse. I would leave the medical and scientific questions of precisely how to deal with the outbreak in Africa to those with qualifications--which excludes mrgybe, his bully boy buddy Chris, and his totalitarian commentary reaction about quarantining volunteers. Like I said, the only bit of consistency is Obama and liberal hating.

It's safe assume from those two responses that neither of you have done anything to help the people in Africa while you sanctimoniously question the motives of those who have.

Motives, schmotives; anyone who has risked contacting that horrible disease in order to help its victims fit any and every definition of "hero" I've ever seen or thought up. Even if one recovers ... three gallons of diarrhea a day, for crapssake?

BTW, that self-centered nurse in Maine just threw her "hero card" in the public's face, IMO. Even if she feels fine and the government is overreacting, she's setting a lousy example even for folks who have never left Manhattan, let alone front-line providers returning from Ebolaland.

I go to both a lot and Australia is a very tightly controlled country. I go to Canada skiing, and Mountain Biking all the time and Canada seems very tightly controlled as well... Especially out west ...am I wrong? Are the borders porous in Canada?

Borders are porous but. Immigration has been tightened up a lot in recent years.

You tell me. Weren't we the ones getting blamed for letting those nut jobs of 911 into your country? It would seem to me that we let our share of undesirables through our borders all the time. It seems like it is an equal nuisance whether I am coming or going into the US....maybe I'm not Mexican enough though. Wink Wow! It just occurred to me how to work there...A good spray tan and a sombrero ought to do the trick. Look out Hood River, here I come.

Bogsy, You go to Australia "a lot"? Are you sure that the Melbourne you visit isn't in Mendocino County?

I thought that was what YOU guys want. Apparently John Stewart sees the US as a socialist system too (see link). And really, other than our single payer health care system, you think we're all that different?....other than 320 million obnoxious Americans shooting one another. Wink
