Superb!
This is Black Sea windsurfing at the famed Anapa. The last 4 days have been 30+ with Sunday checking in with several solid 40mph averages:

I like the part where the cameraman/woman couldn't find him for half a minute (though he was just cruising along) because the waves were just so massive.

What impressed and puzzled me most was how he got out there into that total shapeless MESS through what looked like horrendous shorepound. We all see much higher waves in the magazines, but seldom such gnarly crap because most mag shots are in sideshore or sideoff conditions.
Then there's the problem of zero wind in the pits and huge winds at each peak. That makes even big days in my local river a hassle, and the peaks and valleys here are smaller.

Okay, I made it to about the 2 minute mark, and I could see all that I needed to. That is one crazy Mofo, sailing out there in crazy Mofo conditions, that's not what this sport is about, IMO, next.
Sorry.

I would love a crack at something like that, minus the shorebreak, the total wind blockage in the troughs, those offshore structures/poles, the rocks, and maybe a decade in my age. IOW ... screwwwwwww that.

It reminds me of Lake Michigan or Superior in ways. Short waves, coming one after another. No time to relax. Very steep and nasty, always breaking, even way out. Those waves are much bigger and nastier though, with more time. Open ocean has lots of time between sets. Smaller bodies of water, you get pounded by the next round within seconds. Don't know how they do it.
Very cool video.
