If he had the gall to walk into a NYC police station, they'd turn their backs on him too. | thanks for pointing out lowest number of dems, and at the same time lowest approval rating of congress in history?
When Keery was running a guy who signed up for a second tour in one of the most dangerous areas a swift boat, again he volenteered for a second tour he could have gone home at that point. Well anyway the military has always been right wing same with police and other enforcement agencies. Again even the Secret service in recent years had agents going to sothern states and hanging black effigies wearing white hoods for fun. And the secret service did not fire them or demote them. They did transfer one of those agents off the Obama security detail. When clinton was in office somhow his private stratagy papers got in the hands of Bush senior. Senior made some comment about clinton that could have only come from those papers. The ss gave them to him it was determined. Also some high ranking military gave a hate talk to his command, he should have been removed and made an example of and put in jail for it, instead he was moved to another place. the military has had these issues for ever.
As I have said before when a president comes in as a dem, he should demand the resignation of every military and enforcement agent in the federal government if they are a right wing hater of americans. these haters should not be on the government payroll. _________________ when good people stay silent the right wing are the only ones heard. |

It would be nice to see the Commander & Chief on the same page as his troops, but unfortunately, they are in different books. |

However, in the most recent Gallup poll, O registers a 47% approval rating. Maybe its the 5% GDP, the 300,000 + jobs, or the 2.35 Gas...or maybe the 18,000 DOW. |

Am I surprised? I think that well known that the majority of US Military personnel are Republicans. I guess the question can be asked, are Republicans more correct on war and military issues? Hardly. One only has to look back on the Bush/Cheney Administration. |

But don't bring up the number of troop death under the current administration vs. the Bush/Chaney administration when it comes to A-stan.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
575 US troops died in Afghanistan during the Bush presidency. By August 18, 2010, following two troop surges initiated by President Obama, that number had doubled. Today, over 1500 US troops have died in Afghanistan since President Obama took office—and yet, little in that war-torn country has changed.
These numbers should give us pause. While the Administration has publicly conceded that there is no military solution in Afghanistan, and claimed that it supports 'Afghan-led reconciliation', its policy on the ground is marked by a refusal to establish a timetable for full military withdrawal even after misleading Americans into thinking that all US troops would be out of Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
We must ask ourselves how many more lives will be sacrificed before the Obama administration sets a clear end date for America's longest war.
From last June, the numbers are even higher now. |
Setting clear end/withdrawal dates is disastrous for everyone except the bad guys. You end wars by victory, not the calendar and/or forfeiture. |
I say take em out now, unless...
We roll 10 divisions with tanks napalm, uranium tipped 50 cals, over every hamlet and town. It should take us about 3 months to wipe out everyone.
Of course we'd be labeled war criminals, so TAKE EM OUT NOW. |
No doubt, a pretty confusing paragraph. How much more Afghanistan for us is useful and productive? We all know that the Bush/Cheney Administration abandoned Afghanistan for Iraq, and as a result, totally lost perspective.
In my view, Afghanistan is not something we can win. To argue otherwise is foolish. However, they are the base of choice for monitoring and responding to things going on in Pakistan, and that's where the decision to hang in Afghanistan finds bearing. Simply pissing on the Obama Administration is just hateful dialog. Will we just exit Afghanistan without some beneficial agreement with a long term strategy? I think not. |
