Welcome to winter is right Kook!

They work -- I saw Peter and Marty get a full 2 hours in on a day that was 40ish F.

Now if someone could invent a system where a CO2 cartridge could slowly bleed and stay warm, it would be like having the heat on in your car!

Someone was catching decent swell up at the Church today!

Ok Jerry..Any idea how it would work in winter waves, like we've sailed in RI mid-Jan?
Will I get any cold water flush when I'm getting rolled in the waves? Anyone know? Looking for firsthand experience. When my old Bare and current O'Neill Assault baggy tops didn't leak, they were great. But they leak now so I'm looking to possibly upgrade to a Ianovated suit. Heard great things about them in flat water. Never seen them used in cold weather wave sailing.

Ok so yes it is winter. Who is up for Coast Guard on Sunday? Get a session in before the Pats game.
Don I think you just want to spit out the mouth piece when you get worked so you don't suck in salt water. Wink

Donwh...Old bare dry suit can be repaired. I'm reparing mine now with some stuff called Aquaseal, ( check online). It's an ardous task, the inner lining becomes delaminated, so peal it off and put this stuff on.

It had been sent back to BARE for repairs twice. The third time they said it wasn't worth it to be fixed so I left it there. Too bad.

Not that I'm an expert at anything -- I got an extra couple of years out of my delaminated Bare with a roll of sail tape.

It's been so long since I've sailed, but the last time was a first with my Excel 5/4 dedicated for plain old surfing. It probably wasn't sexy, but my Gath, without the foam, fit perfectly and was ultraplush.

I'm guessing that the trusty Bare will be retired for good.

Have you noticed that there's now enough daylight to surf past 5pm, progress!

Donwh:

I use my Ianovated in waves at Matunuk in RI for a New Years day session in the waves. I also use it for SUPing, very versatile, easy to get in and out of. The suit's made winter sailing a LOT more enjoyable.
