I noticed the 5.0 on the pad, but thought it may be part of custom color , build your own. Then again it may be the final graph and is indeed a 5.0
they start like this:

A 5 batten, dacron, 9.0??
I'll bite- what is the theory behind that design? Super light wind wave sailing? Light wind SUP cruising? My last 9.0 had 8 battens and 4 cams. This sail looks cool, but what are you planning to do with it?

I've got the 6.7 SF and use it for light wind wave sailing on my longboard. Amazingly light and very easy to uphaul. The Dacorn is reportedly the same stuff they use for kites but reinforced more (Kevlar threads). The 3/4 battens allow the sail to go completely neutral in transitions. And when the wind picks up - just add a little more DH & OH and your good to go. Super durable sails too.

Yes i like to play in the waves with my paddle board. Im a big guy and on the small days its fun to cruise them in but usually I nee a little more power than most. I was using a 9.0 sailworks retro but the clew was getting caught in the waves so i talked to the gang at Hot Sails. I also wanted to do my own design that i thought looked cool. Here it is.

i hope it woks out for you. the sail is sharp. i'm used to sailing bigger sails also, so bought an 8m superfreak for light wind sup sailing. what i've found is that since a sup cant plane the extra sailcloth turns into a whole lot of tugging and pulling against the fixed top slogging velocity of the board with no added benefit over a 6.3 which moves the board around just find in light wind. the big freaks have been reported as great on big planing wave boards, often custom or the now defunct exocet wave longboards.

Ive been using this size and I like the power, will probably lose a little power with the cuttaway clew but this should let me ride the waves better. A lot of times here in NH your really sailing in front of the underdeveloped small waves which only really forms close to shore. Ive had many surfers paddle over to me way out thinking there was rideable surf watching me get waves only to discover they couldn't pick up the waves that far out. I wouldn't be able too either but the sail lets me stay in font of the small swells like riding a boat wake.
