Just going to upload all my pictures this year on this thread.
Fun easy day at Rooster Rock, water to the stairs, no resting. 5 sailors out today.

Hi Trudy - great pics as usual. Really appreciate you sharing.
As you may have noticed, we lost contact w/ Rooster Rock right after these photos were taken. Going over the data, we've been scratching our heads because it appears the solar panels simply stopped charging the system on or around JAN 16th.
In your photo taken JAN 21st - I can't see the solar panels anywhere. They should be on the southwest leg of the cage - there were two 10W panels independently mounted.
Do you happen to have any additional images which show the nav aid?
Thanks,
Stuart

Valentines Day on the Oregon Coast
Collateral damage
Newport - South Beach, 2 broken mast, 1 broken sail, one lost rig and one lost bootie, bootie was recovered after being ripped off the sailor during the rinse cycle.
Cape Sebastian - 2 broken masts
Tough day for windsurfers on the Oregon coast, might blow next weekend

Stuart I have no addition pictures, but heading to Rooster today to sail, if the water is too high might try Dalton Point or Stevenson

Thanks for the reply Trudy.
We're pretty confident that the reason our station has received zero power since JAN 16th is due to missing or badly damaged solar panels. They were held in place by multiple stainless steel hose clamps but their position on the cage probably wasn't the best given the relentless force of Gorge easterlies.
So we're going to over-engineer the solution and replace the anemometer while we are out there next time. Probably looking at a late March target date given all of the other trips already on the docket AND the need for a good weather window to reach the nav aid.
Appreciate all the photos - looks like you guys killed it on the coast this weekend!

Thanks, I feel better now, since I didn't rig because the waves looked like they were breaking way outside.
