Was watching the webcam yesterday when I saw spouts, and was able to catch two whales at the same time with "printscreen".

I keep wondering about water depth where the whales are -- but maybe they are in the shipping channel. The webcam probably has a long lens.

Cool Capture FXOP.

Whales do not seem to need all that much depth. Last summer the humpbacks were off Santa Cruz and Capitola and Aptos in water that I am pretty sure was not more than 12 to 16 feet deep.

After you get outside the reefs at Kanaha the water gets deep pretty quick...goes from light blue to dark blue and keeps getting darker as you move out. Whales not the only big creatures out there....
