I always knew that was a fast piece of water, when its working. I'm not a speed guy, so I'm probably getting excited at about 30 (mph)? It would be fun watching Boris blow past all the kiters. Brad Duffy used to push speeds like that routinely. I got faster just trying to keep up with him. Now when I put the hammer down, its on wave gear - so overall, I'm slower than I was in the mid-90's. However, that knowledge never leaves and helps me get on plane, up to speed, and onto the wave sooner when jockeying in the lineup for wave rights. |
