What is going on?? Looked like August in the SF bay yesterday. Pretty classic SW push with fog and breeze filling in at Crissy then dying off a bit then good breeze at Treasure to Berkeley. Then this morning solid breeze at Sherman. Anyone have some good insight as to where this wind is coming from. I know the ridge out in the ocean is breaking down briefly but don't have the time to investigate what exactly caused this blessing. Hopefully next time I will be ready to head to Treasure.

March is the new February!
Maybe climate change is not such a bad thing after all...

This year has really been bad. On a very good year, I probably have about three weeks worth of sailing already. Sailing possibility on coming Thursday and Friday

I'm sure this is all very location and expectations dependent. I've already had three reasonably good days in Feb (using 6.3, 7.0, and 5.5 sails), last year zero. Mostly sail His Lords/Berkeley. Cheers, David

Mac,
Had good session with Derek at HLS on 2/21, but wind was much more westerly.
Interesting Pt. Isabel wind speed you report, perhaps result of northerly direction being blocked by all the trees at the sewage treatment plant where the sensor is located? I wasn't even tempted as a result. Sorry I missed out!
I've been trying for about a year now to get iWind to relocate that sensor to an excellent abandoned antenna post at the NE side of the radio transmitting complex. I sent photos to the iWind crew including Mike G, who seemed supportive. The last I heard was that they wanted to wait until ClearChannel dealings worked out for the new Toll Plaza sensor site prior to attempting this one.
Perhaps you could add your input/support to them as well?
Cheers, David

Happened again today. Took a big sail, but Derek was out again. Trace for today is more accurate than yesterday, but a little lower than actual.

So when PI gauge is reading 10 avg out of the north it's sailable? That is MUCH worse "calibration" than I'd have thought. What size sails were you and Derek on and at what time of day?
