What's a good freestyle wave board. I hear they are kind of all around boards and I'm looking for a take-anywhere-board. I'm looking at the Starboard Kode and the RRD fsw.

All the brands make good boards these days. It would be helpful to know what conditions you plan to sail this board in and how much you weigh. In lighter wind people like freeride and freemove designs and mid to high wind is where the FSW boards work really well.

I absolutely love my RRD FSW. My bud, who sails with me in the same stuff, dislikes his. They're different years, we're different people, and you just got two opinions for the price of one, both worth what they cost you.
DAMN, but this sport is complicated.

i prefer the exocet xwave and the exocet cross
cross is a more flat water oriented but still is fun in small waves..

I'm about your weight and have the 2011 Kode - 80 liter as my high wind B&J board - superb for that purpose! But IMO, they ruined the Kode in newer editions by introducing the twin fin option. Works fine if you're going to use it primarily in waves (w/ twin fins) but if you convert to single fin, the open fin boxes create a lot of drag in jibes (rented one on vacation). Plus they add a lot of weight. Look for an older single fin Kode if you go that route.
Plus one for the Exocet Cross - they are tough to beat for East Coast on-shore conditions. If you want a real multi purpose board for a variety of water conditions, you can't go wrong here. Plus if you click on some of the advertisers here - they have 2013's and 2014's on sale.

Took the Starboard Kode out in Aruba the other week and thought it carved great. Never heard anyone complain about an RRD FSW, my friends have loved them.
My own personal preference in the 3S from Tabou. But I don't think you can go wrong with the Kode, RRD either.

quatro freestylewaves have the same settled/incontrol feeling as the rrd. 105 and 95 have powerbox, 85 has us short box. there are some still around new and used.

Watch Windance's used board section. They ship very cheaply.
