Rigging a mast rack helps a lot in a grand caravan. You only need two lengths of rope about 12 to 18 ins in a Grand. Just tie the hanging seatbelts on the passenger side in back together. We leave the 2nd row seat behind the drive folded up . It is more useful at the site than the front and still leaves room for five boards and ten sails.
Our caravan is set up that way year around with the gear always inside. And uncrowded room for three.

IFF the passenger doesn't mind sitting behind you ... and you want supreme gas mileage ...

I own a Prius and have rented a Prius for windsurfing. Fold right front seat down backward first (slide seat forward and take off the headrest for best board space), then split the rear seat; pax sits in a slightly narrow seat behind driver.

In this config I've had 2 boards, and 5 sails, 2 booms, 2 masts, other stuff and a pax.
Depending how long the boards are and how much nose rocker, you may want to put sails in between boards so top board is above line of sight to right side mirror. (I had a 9' board on bottom, 8'6" board on top last time, but also in reverse). YMMV
I still had plenty of view out the rear view mirror, too.

Hey thats some cool input about the Prius. I reserved a mini van, Probably a Gran Caravan. If I need to take a seat out I have a friends house near the rental place.

That's a huge bonus, as most minivan seats are easy to remove without tools, leaving only their substantial but manageable weight as a minor hassle.

Also good to know about no tools needed to remove seats.

for the amount of gear that you're bringing, it might be just as easy to fold the bench seat flat. You can then stow your sails, masts, and boom under the seat and either angle your boards on top of the bench seat or put a board on its side along the passenger side along side the bench seat.

Kevin now that I have reserved a mini van the temptation is for us each to bring two boards. I'll probably just stick to bringing my 94 Goya quad but she may want to bring her 115ltr. JP go fast light air board and her smaller board. I guess the configuring of the van will become apparent when we get to it. Just have to decide how much stuff we really need. May take trip out to Sherman Island on the weekend during our stay. I just hope we get some wind.
