Hi Gang,

Today, May 19, I am starting this seasons Bluff Report of the wind, swell and cloud conditions in the stretch of river from the White Salmon Bridge, Hatchery, Swell City to Viento.

You can access these reports from this page:
http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=218&siteID=243

Almost all days I will make several reports until the conditions become reliable.

As you know our sensor is unreliable when the air is unstable or when there are bands of lulls and gusts coming from the west. So I will post reports until conditions allow most people to plane full time.

"...about 2 miles north of Swell City..."?

Would that be near Underwood Mountain?

Hi Mike,

Just to let you know that I'm back, so if you see a sail at Viento in the morning on those "light or no wind day", it's me.

The blue and white sail is a 6.6 or 7.4

The black and blue sail is a 6.2 or 5.7

Cheers!

Hi Guy,

Glad you are back in town. Seeing you guys out at Viento in the early morning really help be judge the inbound wind for the Hatch and Swell zone.

I have been swamped recently doing forecasts for GoogleX stuff I have been sloppy about reliable bluff reports. Thanks for the wake up call.

Thank you Mike and John for your welcome greetings.

Would bet on a moderate SW'lies at Viento Thursday and Friday, hope to see you there, John.

Meanwhile, guess I'll have to accommodate with the stronger winds in Roosevelt. What do you want, us sailors from the east coast aren't used to those big winds. Wink

Always look forward to seeing you Guy. You are one of the few remaining charter Viento members. My week and weekend is busy with errands and kayak racing. But I did get out for the first time Saturday. ☺

Guy, how can we use you to determine feasibility for downwinders to Hood River? I mean 5.0m or smaller. Thanks.
P.S. What happened to the Habs?
