I am 6'4" 230 lbs and my nephew is 6'6" 220 lbs. Looking for a SUP I can put a sail on. He has no aspirations of sailing. Two separate boards. Rigid or inflatable? I like the idea of an inflatable to save space but would like to hear your ideas.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

lots of retailers have noticed that their customers are too lazy to deflate....
put a sail on one? very low performance.
price for a good one? same as a rigged one, nearly?
as a toy importer of foam boogie boards, i get spam emails from dozens of inflatable factories that want to sell me inflates. i never solicited one bid for them. hot thing to produce in china? buyer beware.

I would take a hard body over a blow up any day.

Stiffer is always better. With you're all size and weight, I think you'll be disappointed with an inflatable.

Interesting responses so far... If Starboard can make an inflatable that is fully capable of planing windsurfing, why do you think the boards wouldn't be able to handle SUPing?
I have a few customers that are in your size group who have inflatables and they love them. Pressure is key, make sure you get a good one with ample internal reinforcement and can take 18+ psi. And then make sure that you pump them up that high. Boards at 18psi might as well be rigid, it is crazy how stiff they are.
Starboard has an amazing range of inflatable SUPs and WindSUPs. At your size, I'd recommend their Deluxe constructions.

The first shipment of the year is just now getting into the country. Grab one up before they're gone...

Absolutely!
Innovation and experimentation at the hands of a few trustafarians to support their own windsurfing careers and at a cost to the consumer has been a real downside.
Just give us a low-rocker BAF machine that we can take out in most conditions ...Treat it like a marriage....eat the same chicken salad sandwich every day for the rest of your life and be happy!.
We should have just stayed with the Rocket 99...albeit carbon and a few other minor tweaks....pull the tail a bit perhaps.
That BlackBox 107 seems completely removed from my reality. I just wish I wouldn't wake up with night sweats about it
As far as inflatables Haven't gone beyond 16 PSI on this one, mostly to avoid having too hard a surface to land on
