With the water level so low, is there any windsurfing going on at lake Lopez this year?

It doesn't look too good, water level is at 36%. There are some pics in this discussion: http://www.iwindsurf.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=29572&sid=44d8cf448e1358128710285986fc6db5

I live local. I sailed down to 38%. Its wasn't very much fun. At this point its over. The whole windsurfing area is dry or to shallow to use...pray for rain...Tony

Hey Tom,
Hope all is well with you and yours. Lopez was done in May. Even then it was very low and a bit sketchy. I was the only guy sailing there this year and it was crowed. Just no water to play on. Its now down to 35% and dropping fast. The windsurfing area is dry. I might do SPI in Oct. That said< I moved here so I didn't have to chase the wind. Have you done SPI in Oct.
Just wondering if its worth six days of driving there and back...Tony

Hey Tony, thanks for the news, however bad the news is. Hopefully it's an El Nino winter for sure this time, but as I like to say, I'll believe it when I'm shoveling it (the snow, that is.)

I haven't done SPI in the fall but hear it can be epic, albeit with more (cold) Northers and less of the warm South-Easterlies. Fall is too hard for me to get away but I should be there next Spring.

I'm in Ventura a lot nowadays but haven't hit sailing conditions right and am not a good enough kiter to go out here.

You can always reach me at two eight nine zero zero three two, and you should know the area code.

Keep in touch man!

NOOOOO not the dark side. I tried the kite thing when they first started out years back. Did ok the first time out. Almost got dragged into a fire ring on the beach the second time. Sold the whole thing that day on the beach....
