Hi Gang,
I changed the image from dawn with this incredible animation of today's large eddy that is trying to trigger the expected marine surge a day early.
First notice the counter-clockwise spinning of the eddy from dawn to almost 6PM. Give all the other variables backstage that are setting up marine surge conditions this large eddy could possibly the hair trigger for a marine surge.
The amazing part is what happens when the low pressure aloft over the eddy sends all the moist marine layer air that was evaporated over the Bay Area hits the Sierra Nevada triggering massive thunderstorms.
It is still really hard to pinpoint how strong this marine surge will be tomorrow since there are so many variable but I expect Sherman Island to hit low 20's tomorrow and possibly much stronger Saturday.

A question in regards to that hurricane who's name rhymes with a female body part, thank you Seinfeld, most forecasts have it fading out into the mid Pacific, the European model has it curving into central Cali., giving us up to an inch of rain in the process, that would be awesome!
Do you have any insight of your own on that?

Not sure, NW30 - but if this were Pluto there would be ice chips, ice heaps, and ice hills at Channel Marker 8A regardless!

Got my answer in the form of shock and awe last night, surviving a 3 1/2 hour bombardment of very loud bolts from the sky, followed by about 3/4" of rain already. The main rain isn't even supposed to hit us until later tonight into Monday morning. Wow, happy and impressed at the same time, but my ears are still ringing.
