My wife`s favorite board, 2004 JP FW 77 finally bit the dust and she would like a similar replacement without having to test drive a bunch of boards. Anyone have an oldie like this in their attic? Thanks. osh@mcn.org

Under the assumption that you mean FSW rather than FW ...

I've got to guess after years of closely examining the swap meets that JP FSWs of all sizes are the most common boards there. Are you checking those out? IF it has to be a 2004 77 -- or any other very specific model -- it could take years, however, considering how many sizes and years they've made.

Thus:
Examine every Gorge swap meet.

Next time, start YEARS before a favorite board wears out. The day after my first session on a Maui Project Wave board was the day I began assembling a lifetime supply of them in all sizes. Total cost: WELL under the cost of one new potato chip board.

Adapt. I find it hard to believe that one single year and size of any board that ubiquitous is that unique. Their magazine reviews vary slightly from one year to another, but their wild acclaim among guest (i.e., usually real world) testers remains strong. If your wife is SO good that she can tell one year from the next, she's good enough to adapt within a few reaches.

Ask the public at large. Oops ... you just did. Smile Good thinking.
