Last night I watched the Vice news report on the Charlottesville racists, and their multiple interviews with Chris Cantwell. It can easily be found on the internet, and is chilling beyond belief. Here is a summary from http://www.businessinsider.com/why-people-are-furious-with-trump-charlottesville-white-supremacist-vice-video-2017-8

Quote:
Vice News interviewed Christopher Cantwell, a white supremacist who helped lead the Charlottesville, Virginia, rally.
Cantwell embraced violent tactics and predicted more violence.
The extreme views he describes explain why so many are furious at President Trump over his Charlottesville response.
Cantwell said he hoped for a leader who was "a lot more racist than Donald Trump" and who "does not give his daughter to a Jew"
On Monday, "Vice News Tonight" published a chilling 22-minute documentary featuring interviews with several of the white nationalists who helped lead the "Unite the Right" rally that devolved into violence and chaos in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend.

Most prominently featured throughout the episode is Christopher Cantwell, a white supremacist who provided an in-depth description of his beliefs and his movement's goals at the rally to Vice correspondent Elle Reeves.

Cantwell offered racist critiques of black and Jewish people, confirmed that his movement was violent, and defended the killing of Heather Heyer — the 32-year-old woman fatally struck on Saturday by a driver identified as a white supremacist — as "justified."

Malibu's comments about the car attack (and many other details) on this forum are essentially identical to those of Cantwell, and provide insight into the murky waters he trolls.

It is particularly interesting to see Trump and Bannon ignore the anti-semitism throughout the rally, and fail to defend his son-in-law and realize the vile nature of these folks. Could Bannon be relying on these scum bags (and perhaps encouraging) to react violently if Trump is impeached?

Trump opened this Pandora's box wide.

Trump's Civil War
Quote:
Trump’s unwillingness to denounce the white supremacists who came to Charlottesville last weekend bent on violence has been part of his political strategy from the start.

Remember, weeks after he began his campaign by alleging that Mexican immigrants were criminals and rapists, two brothers in Boston beat up and urinated on a 58-year-old homeless Mexican national, subsequently telling police “Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported.”

Instead of condemning the brutality, Trump excused it by saying “people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and they want this country to be great again.”

During campaign rallies Trump repeatedly excused brutality toward protesters. “You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks.”

After white supporters punched and attempted to choke a Black Lives Matter protester, Trump said “maybe he should have been roughed up.”

Trump was even reluctant to distance himself from David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan.

Since becoming president, Trump’s instigations have continued. As Representative Mark Sanford, a Republican from South Carolina, told the Washington Post, “the president has unearthed some demons.”

In May, Trump congratulated body-slamming businessman Greg Gianforte on his special election win in Montana, making no mention of the victor’s attack on a reporter the night before.

Weeks ago Trump even tweeted a video clip of himself in a WWE professional wrestling match slamming a CNN avatar to the ground and pounding him with punches and elbows to the head.

Hateful violence is hardly new to America. But never before has a president licensed it as a political strategy or considered haters part of his political base.

In his second week as president, Trump called Wayne LaPierre, CEO of the National Rifle Association to the White House.

Soon thereafter, LaPierre told gun owners they should fear “leftists” and the “national media machine” that were “an enemy utterly dedicated to destroy not just our country, but also Western civilization.”

Since then the NRA has run ads with the same theme, concluding “the only way we stop this, the only way we save our country and our freedom, is to fight this violence of lies with a clenched fist of truth.”

It’s almost as if someone had declared a new civil war. But who? And for what purpose?

A free and independent press is essential to the health of a functioning democracy

One clue came earlier last week in a memo from Rich Higgins, who had been director for strategic planning in Trump’s National Security Council.

Entitled “POTUS & Political Warfare,” Higgins wrote the seven-page document in May, which was recently leaked to Foreign Policy magazine.

In it Higgins charges that a cabal of leftist “deep state” government workers, “globalists,” bankers, adherents to Islamic fundamentalism and establishment Republicans want to impose cultural Marxism in the United States. “Recognizing in candidate Trump an existential threat to cultural Marxist memes that dominate the prevailing cultural narrative, those that benefit recognize the threat he poses and seek his destruction.”

There you have it. Trump’s goal has never been to promote guns or white supremacy or to fuel attacks on the press and the left. These may be means, but the goal has been to build and fortify his power. And keep him in power even if it’s found that he colluded with Russia to get power.

Trump and his consigliere Steve Bannon have been quietly encouraging a civil war between Trump’s base of support – mostly white and worried – and everyone who’s not.

It’s built on economic stresses and racial resentments. It’s fueled by paranoia. And it’s conveyed by Trump’s winks and nods haters, and his deafening silence in the face of their violence.

A smaller version of the civil war extends even into the White House, where Bannon and his protégés are doing battle with leveler heads.

National security advisor Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster fired Higgins. Reportedly, Trump was furious at the firing.

McMaster was quick to term the Charlottesville violence “terrorism.” Ivanka Trump denounced “racism, white supremacy and neo-nazis.” Reportedly, chief of staff John Kelly pushed Trump to condemn the haters who descended on Charlottesville.

Let’s hope the leveler heads win the civil war in the White House. Let’s pray the leveler heads in our society prevent the civil war Trump and Bannon want to instigate in America.

Anyone out there on the right tired of winning yet? Anyone else still think that hiring amateurs is the best way to solve complicated problems? Anyone at all think the swamp has been cleaned even a tiny bit?

Given our options - Hillary or Donald, I think the vast majority of those voting for Trump would stick with their decision. Yes, we all wish Trump would listen to his advisors, but like or not, he still has the job.

He is not there because of that, again he used the Russians to go after Hillary, and his people did too. Again right wingers did not even allow full disclosure on the con rape boy.

again Russian hacking and russian Bots won it for donald as well as racism. In my book as it is illegal to have the russians attack the american election he did not win and he is an illegitimate president not elected by americans.

At least I deal with realities not idealism.

And for Baja - Hillary and the DNC sank their own ship. If the Russians were behind the leak, then we are all the better off knowing how vile Hillary's run for President was.

it is several different things with the russians, you idiots on the right have no brains... you have to admit you just tried to explain your understanding which is just stupidity....

First the russian Bots are a form of advertising propaganda that were illegal. What they do is more powerful on the internet than one can believe, companies pay millions to get their products or ideas up on the top search pages. The bots brought right wing items to the top when you search and hide the liberal stories. This is probably worth in the 10s if not hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising money.

Second, the russians brought fake news to the front to burry harmful issues to trump. again hire an advertising agency and this would be 10s of millions of dollars. And furthur a top advertising agency would not want to be known for fake news, that type of story is slander/libel and they could be sued for it. How do you sue Putin and his KGB for lies? Again Pizzagate was just one example of how delusional right wingers were. again a General in trumps campaign and his hired son even believed it and reposted that absolutely BIG LIE in the internet...

as far as the russian hacking there are several types

First is hacking of voter information, there are many things this can be used for, scrubbing voter roles and adding fake information. There is no place that was hacked that can prove their data was not compromised and changed.

second, the hacking can manipulate the vote. There is not one place that was infiltrated that can prove their votes were not tampered with.

...and getting the DNC stuff... And there was nothing there about Hillary and the DNC. Oh one or two said some minor things about Bernie... Bernie was never a Democrat. Nothing there except it was weaponized to make like there was a conspiracy against Bernie that absolutely cost Hillary Berie people votes. But again Bernie was not a democrat anytime during his life or the past many years. He only claimed he was to use the democratic party. I posted a thread a long time ago that the dems need to put in their plank that only dems who have held office and been been a dem for the past 3 or so years can run as a dem. I believe the right wing should do that too for their party.

Now if the RNC and trump stuff was hacked and made public well can you imagine how much real dirt is there. again the dems was and as we saw just a few emails about Bernie the non dem.

Now over 1000 lies in 7 months. NW and Malibu--tell us how proud you are of the criminal-in-chief, and predict a date that he gets impeached.
