Blog: Missing this year "the clouds in the hole"

Hi Gang,

No westerly wind until Sunday and I have no Google Makanipower.com forecasts this week so I have to write blogs make money so I don't have to work.

Did you notice that there were rarely "clouds in the hole" this year as you looked down the corridor? And you could not ignore the reality that the winds in the corridor were less than stellar. The proximal reason for this was the very thin marine layer along the coast. The ultimate reason has much to do with the Pacific Heat Blob that I will cover sometime soon.

But right now here is a blog by Kerry and myself that gives you the inside scoop on very thin marine layer clouds. Much of the imagery is from California but the mechanics of the marine layer basically the same in the Gorge.
