I got my complimentary copy of "Windsurfing Now" mag about a month ago, it has an article in it written by Graham Ezzy, fairly interesting. One thing in his write up that I was unaware of, we have only one American windsurfer in the PWA at the time he wrote it, Graham Ezzy, that's it.

The mag? Pretty good, not great, similar to the old Windsurf mag, but $30 for a 4 issue/yr. subscription? I know mags are very hard to keep alive, but I not sure I'm willing to help.

That well written article was really just Ezzys notes. There are a lot of Americans in PWA competition, and the AWT is mostly gringos.
He said he was the only guy on the full tour, which might mean the only American entered in every wave event.
This new mag is done by the guy who was the editor of Windsport. The parent publishing company went belly up, so he is trying a comeback on his own.
Notice how packed the pages are with material instead of ads?

another way to ensure that people use more realistic gear in highly visable events: if one person scores a wave and the rest don't that person wins that heat. rather than throw out heats where most don't score, the fact that one does forces the rest to make more widely ranging gear choices.
