About now, almost 7 years.

Yet, the hornet nest in the Middle East has been stirred for a lot longer than that, and most of us remember who did it, and how they pulled out all the stops. Trying make democracy work in the Middle East has been a fool's errand, despite best intentions. To be thinking about putting a president Trump into the mix would be shear insanity.

Who do you think would be in his White House? I'd love to hear about it.

As Trump has put it, the middle east is on fire because of Obama and Clinton.

Now, Putin respects trump. He knows a real man when he sees one.

Who would be trumps advisors? Smart people. They wouldn't be war mongers. They wouldn't saddle the American people with$ trillions of dollars in debt.

Do you realize how funny this is? Trump has only spent $200k on his campaign. Hillary close to a hundred million dollars. The other Republicans $100 million. Everyone is running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Trump is a success and has created jobs . Obama was a rabble-rouser and has lived off of the Federal Reserve's zero interest rate policy this is now coming to an end. We'll see what happens in the next year and a half.

While Putin is making monkey references to Obama, he's respectful of Trump. This is a very dangerous thing to have a guy like Putin not respect the president.

It is rumored that Trump will pick Putin to be his running mate.

really you like a KGB guy and have to wonder what his motives are. Are you really that stupid... well yes... He wants the guy again that will give a stare into his eyes and trust him again like a fools man fool. Bush was so stupid and Putin then decided to take Georgia. And no repercussions. what so ever. Putin is close to his lowest approval ratings since he did that finally. again he has been removed from the G8 and much more. Bush did nothing...

Meanwhile, back at Ground Control -

Sixteen Syrian refugee families have been 'quotered' to a small Scottish western isle (Bute) , a very wet, midge infested, very limited winter warmth and daylight, typically Scottish clan type overt Christrian part of our United Kingdom. (Ironic laughter at the united bit!)

Quite what these hot desert dwellers, none of whom apparently speak English (let alone Scottrish babble), will make of it all, goodness knows. They will have nothing whatever in common, either culturally or religiously with the overtly Christian (anyone with knowledge of the Scottish Islanders will know exactly what I mean) islanders.

The seeds of friction have already been planted. Bute is an economically depressed island with limited jobs, andlocal youth having to move to the mainland to find work. Yet the 'newcomers' have been provided with free housing (what else could they have done), free rent and all associated payments, and money grants along with such things as free new bikes for their children.

To cap it all, some idiot 'official' apparently has advised some of the overtly Christian inhabitants not to openly celebrate Christmas in case IT OFFENDS the Syrians!

Sometimes, you can't think of a more incendiary way of igniting a 'punch up' scenario! Where do they find such blind to the obvious people?

GT, I enjoy your posts. Very civilized, yet clear to those of us who get it. Even atheists see the value in Christianity and tradition.

Sadly, Christmas has evolved into a commercialized feeding frenzy at the partially vacant malls....thanks to Amazon.

Christianity is the glue that made England and America who we were. That has been changed forever, and not for the better, IMO.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU, whether you respect the reason for the season or not.

Thank you Steve. I see where you are coming from, and share many of your concerns. Merry Christmas to you.

Incidentally, even our Archbishop of Canterbury is raising questions about how many more people this island nation of ours can accommodate. (My translation - our centuries old Christian heritage could be overwhelmed.)

Also, we are informed, the Queens Christmas Day Broadcast will, this year, stress her commitment to her role as 'Defender of the Faith.' (Christianity, that is!) Defence of our heritage comes no stronger than that!

And so say all of us!

Yes, but it's also alarming that Putin seems to support Trump. Honesty ... or gaming?
