Chinook mast base extension separated from Chinook europin in huge surf and I was able to swim to the rig and hang on for a while but after a big set it went down and disappeared. I've heard stories of this happening before. One report was that someone lost their rig at Scotts Creek and it showed up at Its Beach 10 days later (about 15 miles). In this case I lost a Simmer sail, Sailworks Backbone mast, Chinook mast base extension, and Aeron booms. Pricey day doing what we do. ... .
