Who is Gab founder Andrew Torba?

Quote:
The murder of 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue Saturday has brought new attention to Gab, the social media service that bills itself as pro-free speech and serves as a gathering place for white supremacists, neo-Nazis and other extremist figures online, and counted among its users suspected gunman Robert Bowers.

Shortly before Bowers attacked the Tree of Life synagogue in Squirrel Hill, Pa., he posted to Gab. “Screw your optics, I’m going in,” he wrote to an audience that included white nationalists, some of whom had been kicked off mainstream sites like Twitter and Facebook and joined Gab, which was founded in August 2016.

According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, approximately 635,000 people were registered on Gab as of Sept. 10, 2018. By comparison, Twitter boasted an average of 326 million monthly active users during approximately the same time period.

Bowers’s Gab profile was quickly suspended after the site’s administrators were alerted to a verified account linked to the suspected gunman. But the backlash cost the site its cloud host, Joyent, and domain provider, GoDaddy, and as of Monday afternoon, it was offline. PayPal banned Gab a few hours after the shooting, stating that they were in “process of canceling the site’s account before today’s tragic events occurred.” (Stripe, another payment processing company, also dropped the platform.) Gab posted its initial response to the shooting on Medium, but the publishing site has also now suspended the company’s account.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -
Just one week until the Midterm election and a Spokane Valley representative up for reelection finds himself under federal scrutiny after a manifesto distributed by him was leaked to the public.

The four-page document, titled "Biblical Basis for War" was originally reported by the Spokesman-Review. It's a radical Christian call to arms, outlining 14 steps for seizing power and what to do afterward in explicit detail. It calls for an end to abortions, an end to same-sex marriage, and if enemies do not yield and everyone obey biblical law, all males will be killed.

We reached out to Shea multiple times to ask him about this manifesto, contacting him on Facebook, calling his legislative offices in both Olympia and Spokane Valley, as well as his Spokane Valley law firm.

He has not returned our calls, but his legislative aid did say our message was being passed along to Rep. Shea. He did however post a video on Facebook earlier this month. In it, Shea admits to distributing the document, but calls it a summary of a series of sermons in the Old Testament, or "just war theory" philosophy.

The manifesto was only given to a few people close to Shea, and was made public by Tanner Rowe. Rowe was hired in 2016 by Shea's security team for the Republican Gala on election night. The manifesto was given to him by a friend, and former long-time member of Shea's inner circle.

The document has also captured the attention of Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, who says he immediately alerted the FBI saying he felt the author, Shea, was dangerous.

We reached out to the FBI and Joint Terrorism Task Force about the manifesto. They tell us they are actively reviewing the manifesto for investigative leads.

Here's a guy Dean will love:

"Five-term Washington state Rep. Matt Shea has been circulating a manual for holy war in the United States, the Seattle Times reported.
The four-page document, titled “Biblical Basis for War,” goes point-by-point over how a Christian theocratic movement could – and should – exterminate its opposition in a battle to win a hypothetical holy war.

At the outset, Shea’s holy army would issue terms of surrender to its enemies. The demands include “stop all abortions,” “no same-sex marriage,” “no idolatry or occultism,” “no communism,” and “must obey Biblical law.”

If the rest of the country refuses to “yield” to these terms, the document advocates a final solution: “kill all males.”

Most of the document veers into the absurd
."
To which I'd add:
1. Hey, Seattle Times; It's ALREADY absurd.
2. This guy's four reelections say a LOT about Seattle's sanity.

Here are some legitimate conservative heroes (a "hero" to me is one who makes or risks great personal sacrifice to benefit others):

Your attempt to denigrate Seattle backfired. Shea is from Spokane Valley, WA. An area that more closely aligned with the politics of the Tri-City's than Seattle.
