I absolutely love the #10 mistake on the U.K. site, couldn't agree more. |

Greetings Arne,
Though some are frivolous, I agree with everything in Boards top 15,
except for rigging with your sail into the wind. Rigging with your sail
into the wind at a double black diamond place like "The Wall" is a recipe
for some missing teeth, and using your mast to unroll the sail like they
show really wears on your luff sleeve. I've seen more than 1 or 2 mast
punch-outs by people who rig like that. I'll suffer the ignominy of the
flapping, thank you.
In your top 8 list of mistakes, I would add poorly rigged sails (especially
under downhauled) as one of the biggest mistakes you can make. This is
different from rigging for the forecast, which I totally agree is a big
mistake when the water is right in front of you.
Then there's the rigging what you want to ride rather than what the
conditions suggest (the ugly sister of your rigging for the forecast).
This could be fun,
-Craig

NOT so sure what the BIG deal is about wearing trunks over wet suit.
I do so in order to keep my keys , etc
in my case it is NOT such a fashion statement as it was on UK site !!

This list misses the two most common mistakes. From every clinic everywhere:
1. You need more downhaul.
2. You need to sheet in more. _________________ Michael

The most common mistake in our over regimented sport is assuming people are making mistakes, just because they're not sheep! |

WELL STATED. IF GUYS AND GALS ARE HAVING FUN, WHO CARES HOW THEIR SAIL IS RIGED OR WHAT THE ARE WEARING. I WEAR A HELMET GOGGLES AND A VEST AND DON'T CARE IF THE GUY NEXT TO HAS SHORTS OVER HIS WET SUIT... |

I came ashore once wearing my neoprene hood with the ear holes cut out so my ears protrude, plus some totally dumb-looking but highly effective eyewear. Scott asked, "Do you have any IDEA how DUMB that getup looks?"
"Yup ... but they work":
Scott just said, "As long as you know". |
