If you only use them on the water and observe proper radio protocol, then a pair of marine VHF radios might be a good idea. If you run into trouble you have VHF channel 16 to call for help. But marine VHF is not legal to use ashore so FRS would be the call if you wanted to use it anywhere else. I've had excellent luck with Motorola radios, although Uniden has a good rep as well. |
