Classified Ad scams

So I have started posting ads for good WS gear. Have gotten the SUP bug.
I posted for a Chinook Ally Pro booms for $150. Nothing fancy, but in good shape. I get this message . . . . .

Hi, Im interested in the boom. Would you ship for an extra amount by USPS to Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, zip code 00757? Thank you. Andries

Really, ship to Puerto Rica for $150 booms?. I know its a scam. Andries knows its a scam.

Is this just standard stuff now that everyone assumes and ignores?

Why you think it's scam? Why someone in PR can't buy your boom?

What is the current price for the item you have for sale, or words to that effect,
They don't take the time to actually identify what it is.

A different type of person, will also make contact,more prone off Craigslist, that seem genuine. They must take delight in missing with you, including appointments when they don't show.

The cost in this case to ship a boom because of its dimensions is kinda high, makes shipping a used one expensive. These could be genuine

To me, that response could have gone either way. PayPal or a USPS money order cashed at your post office is my recommendation.

Yes, I get plenty of scams where the buyer offers to pay more, but never related to shipping.

I got a bunch of scammer emails today from ballackmuller7@gmail.com. His English is much improved, but there were enough clues that he was a scammer, such as "Is the item still available". If they don't know what they are buying then its a scam.

I got this from Christopher Boot (christopherboot8@gmail.com). I'd really like to give these scammers the boot. I considered replying "f..k off scammer" but that would achieve nothing after the initial 2 seconds of satisfaction. Are there really people that still fall for this blatant crap?

Windsurfing gear is almost impossible to buy or ship to PR. Even the big mail order windsurf companies WON'T ship to PR, no matter how you ask.
There are NO windsurf shops in PR. There are a few rentals, all on the North shore, in San Juan, but they don't sell gear.
There IS consistent sideshore E winds all along the whole South shore of PR, including the Ponce area, known as the least windy on the whole island.
About the only way to get windsurf gear to PR is to fly it along with yourself, costing 150 bucks for anything bigger than 30" in one dimension. And they won't take anything longer than 7 feet, and usually charge ANOTHER 150 bucks .

New shop, didn't exist in Jan. 2016.
As with anything new, it's not a sure thing to be a shop, and likely a sports store for other sports but deciding to carry windsurf gear also. Good enough, I'll check it out this winter, or maybe next month if I go.
