Is it a day for Davis Point in San Pablo Bay?

It almost never is.
One of the parking lots has about 15 spaces, and other than that, you have to park on San Pablo Ave., about 8 blocks away.
Another is next to a playground, near the water, and the cops there say it's a car burglar's paradise.
Both work on E winds though, offshore, but any other place is good on WSW winds or NW winds.
Submerged pier's everywhere, and sunken boats at low tides.

Pt. Isabel was quite windy, at least from 3 - 3:30 today. Should have been on my 5.0, but was still able to manage a 5.5. New sensor/location seems much more accurate. Cheers, David

There have been several SP Bay days this month. I'm a block of the water but have not yet sailed this season.

The rigging and launching at the Davis Point location is not to bad.
A few years ago the property was bought and a winery started, 4 Fools. They have a tasting room and a some manufacturing on site. 4 Fools owns the marina now and for the past couple of years have allowed us to park in the marina parking lot and launch from the marina boat ramp. It works pretty well.
The rigging is a bit dirty because it is a gravel parking lot and limited grassy areas to put gear.
4 Fools has an onsite security guard. So you either check in with him or at the tasting room when it is open. The gate to enter close around 5:00ish. So you have to get in before they close. You can stay longer and leave at anytime.

4 Fools offer to use their property free of charge is very gracious. So the occasional end of session wine tasting or purchase of a bottle helps provide "good will". There wines are really pretty good. We have a bottle of "The Queens Revenge" that will get consumed during the final show of the season for "Black Sails".

BTW, the swell and wind is best about 2 1/2 to 3 miles out in the middle of the channel near the channel markers. You will not be bothered by boat traffic like at Crissy or T.I. when you are out there sailing. Just don't plan on being out there swimming.
