Anyone sail here lately? New Benicia-Dillon Point sensor has been at the top of my home page list several times. I wonder if it might be reading a little high. I used to sail at 12th Street sometimes in the spring. Wouldn't mind trying it again just for old times' sake. |

Can't say anything about the sensor. I sailed a few times there, never had anything epic, but if it was blowing I went to Sherman Is. _________________ K4 fins

I last sailed there on a very windy day in mid-November, but it's often good in the spring, with great swell on the ebb. The rigging/launching area at 12th Street is really nice, though muddy. By mid-summer, other than the aberrant super-windy day, Benicia's really a kiting spot. |

Yea, 5-6 times in the last two weeks. 6.7 - 7.5 or larger is usually needed , 4pm - 6pm best. Wind usually stronger 100 yards out in channel than on shore. Bonus....A lot shorter drive than Sherman, and super nice folks ! |

There is no 12th Street shown on GMaps. There seem to be two launches: 1st street and 5th street. which is recommended? |

12th St. is a tiny jog to the water off of W. K Street; it dead-ends at a circle with lots of parking, a portapotty, and large grassy lawn/rigging area. It's far and away the best launch in Benicia. Wind line is typically 50-100 yds offshore. |
