Thx for the photos, save some wind for me.
I have never heard of ... Vechiles with roof items not being allowed on the bridge... Happen before ..often ..?

meaning at the chesapeake bay bridge. have heard of it, never experienced it in 12 years of spring and falls trips down. think the threshold is gusts to 60mph.

Have heard of the bridge not allowing loads on roof of vehicle. Can remember someone posting that they got one of the big trucks to stick the stuff in side their unit.

yeah the toll booth at the Chesapeake bay bridge has stopped me a few times over the years , they have a pretty low wind threshold for stuff on the roof and trailers.. drive around if its going to be more than 25knots in the forecast for that area.
fyi..I have never been stopped at the Oregon inlet bridge to the island..
one year...I drove off the island at 5am running from hurricane floyd ..going up pea island .. it was blowing around 60 to 80 NE as i crossed the bridge.. one gust blew the door to the truck cap open as i was halfway up the bridge.. i had to stop on the bridge, get out and close the door in sideways rain that stung my face... i could barely see what was going on, i manage to close the door and continue on... white knuckled as i approached the top of the bridge with the truck being blown around pretty good, all i could think about was how during the storm of the century a dredging barge hit this very same bridge and knocked out a section in similar conditions as i couldn't really see more than 100 feet in front of the truck. note to self.. leave earlier...
