I started as a 2000 era NAISH MISTRAL TITAN, 109liters.
Removed tail and nose , about 40cm total. Removed and moved forward mast track, footstrap inserts. Removed powerbox, installed a rear SLOTBOX , and forward PROBOXes
I'm now 222x 61.5, 7.6kg.
I have a semi tunnel dual system between the fins, aka worm drive AKA RED OCTOBER, hense my name .. RedOctober.

Sure looks pretty clean right now. What are the boards basics (year, model and dimensions), and what's the remodel plan? |

Quite a makeover. Seems like a totally different animal now.
A few questions though. Why move the mast track forward? Was it a part of changing the board's overall rockerline too? Seems that you have some asymmetry to the tail's outline. Maybe it's just an optical illusion in the photos, but if it's not, is there some reasoning for it? Lastly, maybe you can fill us in on the two channels between the rearmost fins. It's very unique in configuration. Is there some theory involved?

In part this was a exercise to ulitilze my vacuume bagging system, to hone my skills so to speak.
Weight gain on this is much less than previous re-do. Much pleased with that.
Approx 1.75 lb more than a cobra built 96liter.
Guess is it's 96liters. It's really short. Aside from the nose and tail, the rails were left pretty much like original.
I used 80 and 100 Divinycell, west systems epoxy, core mat, and Advil.
Board cost $50. Materials.. WAG. $500.
Forward fin toe in 2.8. Fins.. To try.. 14.5 and 11.5. Sails 5.2..5.9.
This years board to 2017 is a total build from scratch, using EPS core. _________________ K4 fins

Other boards this size have it forward, the track is long, so I have adjustment.
The bottom view of the tail is a photo illusion. The forward looking view of the tail is accurate, it's defined by the tunnels mostly.
The tunnels are something I saw, not the same , but similar on a surf board, more like channels, I did a single winger on the last one, and said go for it.
I think I'm a intuitive engineer, I wish I had paid more attention in math class, and done some hydro- dynamic studies. I felt it may produce a Venturi effect between the fins. _________________ K4 fins

Hey Gary,
You do realize that with this much work, and your own vacuums bag, you
could just totally design your own board. I feel a full custom of your own
design and manufacture in the future.
Red October.........subtle and very cool!

Not sure about those tunnels, but I like the graphics!
Hope to test at the Windswept Flight Center. _________________ Brian S
