Good day all...Where do you find the actual current water temp for the river out east? I googled the crap out of it and all I get is historical data, river levels, etc etc. Is there a simple easy spot to pick off the temperature to see if I have the stones to get wet, yet? Thanks, don hanson

Here's the realtime Columbia River data from The Dalles dam.
http://waterdata.usgs.gov/or/nwis/uv?site_no=14105700
The river is 51 degrees now.

Another interesting website to track the river flow and peak runoff is NOAA's Extended River Forecast Center.
http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/stp/station/stpplot/stpplot.cgi?TDAO3
It forecasts peak runoff in the second week of June.

Lots of guys out without booties this weekend. Go shred.

I use the one WSWat30 posted, and find that all four dams are usually within one degree F of one another. Come on in ... the water is fine barefooted, bare handed, and bareheaded.

Yes, a real long time..... I have you and Herky to blame for windsurfing, thanks to that long ago day trip from Telluride to Morgan Reservoir. during that long ago visit from Jackson Hole during a ski patrol job-exchange.....

I did head out to Roosevelt...No one else there...wind was about my 4.7 when I pulled in. Let my doggie take a dip and tested the water temp...air was 77f. The wind died, like it does sometimes in spring, rather abruptly before I even rigged. I have swum my rig back from Arlington before in spring conditions (but I try to avoid that now)....so I didn't get caught out this time. Doug's looked best... Confused

Seems like the River is running hot again this year. Now I'm going to have to think about a weed fin for my 95 liter light wind board this July. Don't want to have to go this way but last year in July the weeds were getting to me some days with a slalom fin on.

Maybe when the snow melt really turns on, the river temp will go back more toward normal...we can hope.
