here at this wall there is a military and they can not stop people climbing the wall the US had contractors build around just a small part of the city.

So exactly how is a wall up against Canada and Mexico going to stop those dangerous people like terrorists and drug lords over some 5000 miles?

Again the terrorist they caught under Clinton for Y2K came from Canada's border crossing.

and what is the approximate cost now to build secure walls per mile?

The running joke in Canada is we want Trump to build a wall on the Canadian border to keep Americans out.

We intercept perhaps 5-10% of illegal drugs--at a cost of about $40 billion a year. The profits of illegal drugs have led to corruption in many areas of government, particularly in law enforcement. (And legal opiod drugs are killing more than 14,000 people a year.) Obama has sent more undocumented immigrants with criminal records back than ever. And somehow the knuckleheads who relish in Trump's bigotry think a wall is going to work. Maybe they studied math with NW.

Really, it isn't about building a wall at all. It's about the Americans that are hiring illegal immigrants. Any credible politician should be honing in on this, but it's something that Republicans in the House can't seem to pull it off. Maybe their monied constituents back home don't want too much attention on the real problem.

President Obama has had plenty of time to make a deal with Republicans.

I think you're missing the picture. The Republican House needs to pass an immigration reform bill that can also pass a Republican Senate.

You would think that Republican leadership in Congress could bring something credible to the table. Yet, why are they missing in action? Looking at my original point, they can't seem to focus on the problem at hand.

At least he, Pelosi, and Reid were sometimes honest about their abject refusal to consider Republican ideas for these 7+ years, even boasting about it from the dais sometimes [e.g., Obama to McCaine, caught on camera in a large meeting: "The election's over, John. I won." Translation: STFU.). This and even more outrageous public refusals to hear Republican legislators contributed a great deal to the GOP sweep in 2012, but the DNC learned nothing from it.

Thus Trump's appeal, as hordes of Democrats are tired of arrogant dictators with no interest at all in compromise. That same concern is costing Cruz dearly.

Of course he has, after allowing more of them to flood into this country, more than ever before, he has to, killers also, but there are still many more here hiding.
And you think they were all here before he got originally elected?
Yes some, but a hell of a lot more came in with BHO's open border policy, over the last 7 1/2 years.
There is some math for you.

Immigration reform is just simply going back the laws we already have but enforcing them for a change.

Like I said, NW must be doing the math. Obama has deported more than Bush--more than 2.5 million--and has focused on those with criminal records, even minor crimes. http://fusion.net/story/252637/obama-has-deported-more-immigrants-than-any-other-president-now-hes-running-up-the-score/

You spin like the gybester.
