we are at 2547.88ft elevation this morning, with a volume of 105,340acft, which is 19% of full, and 57ft below the dam. Its rising at about 7" per day at the moment, with a healthy inflow of 1900cfs+ at Kernville, making the river suitable for rafting etc, and cooling the lake which needed it: we were above 63degs last week, with an early algae bloom. This has dispersed for now, though.
To put those 19% into perspective: we are a day away from the high water mark of 2013 - so if you attended the first Speed Week and found the lake adequate, you'd like what we have now.
According to the Water Master, we should get another 18ft out of our snow pack, before things start to go South again in early July

Thanks EVA!

Now that is what I would call a thorough report!

I may get over that way soon. Have never sailed there and think I should at least once.

I do believe you should! between Memorial Day and July 4th is generally our best windy season, which happens to coincide with the max reservoir, and without too much of a disturbance yet from jetskis and other motorized nuisances

Hey Miss Eva,
Nice shot. If I knew you were taking pictures I would not have crashed so many times.
FYI, there is plenty of water to enjoy the lake. I sailed all day in a spring suit. As fore mention, I crashed a few times and it felt good to get wet. This was a frontal wind, not the normal thermal set up. By the afternoon it was very gusty. I had a difficult time controlling my 5.2 All in all, a great time, well worth the drive. Breakfast at Nelda's is still excellent.... Tony

It was a beautiful day up there on Saturday. Unfortunately my 5.8 was too much for the gusty conditions and I wore out pretty quick. I thought the water temp was a tad on the chilly side for a shorty. It is good to see the lake filling up again!

The Former King of LITTWA will be up starting Thursday this week, and of course for The Week at the Lake!

Hey, this sounds fun. Can I put my trailer on the water and what are the daily fees?

Yes, $5. I think (been a while), watch out for areas of soft sand. I'll be there with a big Sailworks flag.
