Hello
I had a great time there today. The water is blue, green and transparent and there are nice clean waves, there is a river flowing in there and this creates super nice waves.
Does anybody have experience with this beach?
Thanks Alena

I personally do not have experience windsurfing that place but saw a guy doing this regularly in Fall.

Andrei.

Can you post some pictures? I'd like to see what this place looks like. Sounds nice!

I will next time I go but for now here are pictures from a previous trip.
It was a quiet day.
It is considered a very good spot for surfing and SUP.
It is shielded from the South so no good in South winds.
By the way another windsurfing spot is Fort Foster in Kittery Maine, very nice spot as well, facing South, beautiful clear freezing water, islands to sail between. Also both places are nice for non windsurfers.
Both beaches have showers and so on.

The water is the clearest we have ever seen here. No snow melt and no heavy rain.

Yes, the water does look clear and clean unlike so many other venues, especially where I live.

Cool Hey Alena
I can give you all the info you need about Ogunquit.
My family has owned beach houses on the northern end of the beach since the early seventies... I lived on the beach for several year and have been playing in it's waters since I was a child.
Windsurfing is not something you see often here, for many reasons. First and foremost, it just doesn't get the wind. Nothing like Cape Cod... A normal sea-breeze is just too light to get planning without a large kit. I keep an 8 meter sail and a 120 liter board at the beach house, but it rarely sees water.

If however, you enjoy SUP's, surf SUPing or surfing, Moody beach and especially the Oqunquit Rivermouth, are lots of fun. Chest to head high surf at the Rivermouth can be epic.

Wet-suits are mandatory for the thin skinned. Offshore breezes can drop water temps very quickly. Onshore sea-breezes can make it almost tolerable. Wink
When the wind does come up, it's usually in a Nor'Easter. The water and waves become less then ideal for windsurfing and surfing.

Still, as a vacation spot, it can't be beat. We have rental units right on Moody Beach (the northern half of Ogunquit) and supply all the water toys you could want... just add wind.

I still plan to windsurf there on my very long board (5 meters) and very large sails. It is very beautiful and closer than the Cape.
How is it at Pine Point?
Thanks
Alena

Pine Point and the rest of Saco bay is very friendly ocean windsurfing. 7 miles of sand beach curving from south facing Pine Point to north facing Camp Ellis. A very wide range of conditions can be had, with patience. It's Maine, not Maui.
