Replacing Vent Plug

Anyone have any suggestions of videos or articles on how to replace a vent plug (not just the screw).

I am wondering if I should glass over my old one and install a new one in another location, or if I should remove the old one and replace it with the new one.

Is this a fairly easy DIY job?

While it doesn't specifically cover vent plug replacement, I think that you could follow the process for installing foot strap inserts.

Regarding your question about covering up the old vent plug and installing a new one in another location, that's what I would do. That way everything about the new location and the installation is fresh. Laminating over the old location with fiberglass is super simple.
