I was sitting on the beach today at west Dennis. I checked the meter and when it was reading 16 it really wasn't 16 on the water..probably more like 13. The WD meter reads high probably 3 or 4 mph in SE and also SW. But a little bit less higher in SW. This is conjecture on my part, but I think is true. Anyways a beautiful beach day, just not a windsurfing day. |

Beautiful day today, Aug 12th ... no subtlies about topology or gradients coincident with sea breazes ... Just plain windy! And, carribean water temperatures , to boot. Thought I was in Aruba most of the day. Gotta buy a smaller sail. |

Now you can move on to explaining why it doesn't blow as hard as it used to at Horseneck...

Great day and nice crowds at Kalmus yesterday (once the wind decided what to do). Thanks to Eddie Devereaux to taking lots of great pictures again. I borrowed a few to put them on my blog for all those folks who don't like Facebook - check http://boardsurfr.blogspot.com/2016/08/kalmus-goes-off.html. There's a link to Eddie's Facebook page in the post if you want to see more pictures. |

Sailing at Kalmus was like spending happy hour at Cheers.
Windsurfing is not dead yet!

Only about 4 kites and 2 sailboards on the Truro/Provinceton bayside line for Friday's great conditions. Maybe still some timid sailors after GWs seen eating the whale carcass down the beach a bit the week earlier? Tried to convince myself a full shark is better than a hungry shark ... But also tried to keep my speed up and TOW-to-TIW ratio high. |
