The facts are still coming in but it looks like Lochte and company made up the story about being robbed at gun point. The Brazilians are pissed and I don't blame them. I say send him back and let the Brazilian courts do their thing. If the Brazilians ask to extradite and we refuse we will look like international a-holes.......

Wait a minute. They were held up. They were accused of breaking a bathroom door, contacted by an armed guard, and told to give them their money. Do I have this wrong, or is OJ in prison for doing the exact same thing as these Brazilians?

While we don't have all the facts yet about what happened, what's the bearing for an extradition if a totally fabricated story didn't result in an injured party? I seriously doubt that Brazilian authorities have much to work with to suggest that they've been directly hurt in the scenario, particularly since there has been substantial evidence of criminal theft in Rio during the Olympic Games.

Video shows the swimmers being robbed with their hands up, and then made to sit on the ground. They were drunk. They paid the guy with the gun some money. OJ was as guilty as the Brazilian guard. The swimmers were drunken punks, who may have done $20-50 in damage to the gas station.

I've had similar problems with illegals. They break stuff, have no ID, and you have no recourse unless you want to go OJ on them, and end up in prison like the Brazilian off duty cop should.

Olympians should represent the best, not the worst or even the mediocre, any nation has to offer the world. Anything less than pretty danged good behavior should cost them dearly ... beginning already with lost endorsements and possible impacts on their 2020 Olympics chances.

I'm glad I said "allegedly" and "IF" in regards to the Rio robbery/vandalism issue, because as usual the whole truth is yet to emerge and the trend is towards middle ground and away from a false police report.

I still say their behavior betrayed their obligation to be better representatives of the U.S.
