Smoke on the water, and spot fires in the hills, it's never the same.
One of the things about this sport that I like, no two days are alike.
The fire behind Hearst Castle is "contained" and it is, but we saw a spot fire behind it an off to the south. Never got big, got doused twice by chopper as it came back again, but an added dimension to our sailing today.
4.7's mostly.
On my way home I saw a big flatbed truck, the bed about 40' long, w/ wood slat sides, and no top. It was totally filled with used dirty fire hoses, not coiled up, but just gathered and tossed in, it must have had 50,000' of hose in there at least. |

Sounds like a lot of burning/burnt around Hearst Castle. Hope it clears up soon, sailing Arroyo L. is fun on a nice day. Still lots of smoke to the East and haze all the way to Nevada.
