Looks like our wind drought in New England is about to come to an end. Trying to get an idea where you are all planning to go. Right now I starting to focus on Pt. Judith, RI area. Only problem I see right now is that it is the Labor Day weekend, which means that most beaches will be having restrictions to windsurfers if not be totally closed due to high surf and strong rip currents. May have to make plans to sail at Aunt Carries if need be.
Right now I am looking at Sunday and/or Tuesday....

Maybe Cape cod bay on Sunday, as I need to be there this weekend. See if the NE forecast holds. Chapin/Mayflower

You must be talking about CT. I got 15 planing sessions on Cape Cod in August, most of them on 5.6. A few of them where "locals only" surprise sessions, but others were long afternoon or all-day sessions.
That said, I'm sure looking forward to the fall nor'easters, and this looks like a good and early start. |

Isn't Mayflower a residents only beach on season ? Alot of complications being Labor Day weekend. Chapin would be my choice, but have to check tide, crowds, and kiters..So if the tide is right, I would get there real early. |

Mayflower will be 25 dollars if it doesnt rain out. Wind surfing is discouraged, but i have talked to the guards in the past and go west to launch. Not tide dependant |

Am living outside of New Haven but I am not sure where to sail around here for these E, ENE, NE winds for this Hermine storm. A possibility is Ninigret Pond in RI. Any other thoughts suggestions for spots closer to New Haven? |

Airfoil,
Several spots I can think of. Short Beach in Stratford. Walnut beach, Meigs Pt. On Hammonasset. I believe there is another launch down towards Norwalk, but have never been.
Just checked the forecast for tomorrow and may end up somewhere in SW CT shore as wind forecast is stronger there than RI. Need a warm up before heading to the rough stuff in RI for Monday/Tuesday. Will let you all know.

Thanks for the suggestions Lars. I'm still not sure where I will sail today as I also need to find something for my girlfriend to do while I'm out on the water. Monday and Tuesday I may sail at Hammonasset point as it seems it can handle the E/NE wind directions... |

look'n good on the outer cape. A freshening breeze, sunny skis and a NE trend.
Pleasant Bay parking whether at Jackknife, or at the Orleans boat ramp, is not an issue and not much of an affect by the tides. It's not open water, but it can still be good. Surf weed fins needed at a minimum.
