Yes, but you've previously established that you're inefficient. That may explain why you don't cotton to light wind sailing. Coaxing a board in what appears to be barely planing conditions onto a high speed reach is one of the satisfactions, requiring subtlety and a light touch.

By choice, for over a dozen reasons. It's subjective, but I'm pretty good at planing in marginal winds relative to my equipment, and I VERY often plane more than most others, for another simple reason ... and that's one of those >12 reasons I choose to rig big.

In another thread some guy said he LOVES being overpowered. I'll bet dollars to donuts he's not overpowered.
