Looking at the dust, you sprinkle it on the paint, the paint is polyurethane same as I use, so it will work, me thinks.

Acrylic dust works great. I found the key to a good finish was very even application. What worked for me was experimenting with fine sieves until I found the right mesh spacing. I wasted a few cups of the dust but well worth it.

A different technique is to purchase a commercial powdered sugar duster from a restaurant supply store. Aluminum and $12. Stand above the wet board -a step ladder works great- and tap the duster sideways with the heel of one hand, holing the duster with the other. The dust will spread everywhere and very evenly. Even application is the goal, not saving a few bucks in waste avoidance.
