Hey Hodad
thanks for the link.
Have you compared the AFS-1 foiling to the sealion foiling?

Hi Lucaro,
Sorry for the reply delay! Yes, the two boards both have their strong points:
The AFS-1 has a broader wind range- It gets going in less wind, and stays in control in stronger wind. It is, however, built for ONLY windsurf foiling, and you can't really do anything else on it. Bruno Andre can get foiling on the AFS-1 with a purpose built 7.0 in just 4 knots of wind! Regular folks will need more breeze, but it's still crazy how early you can get moving. Then, with the nose cut out and the footstraps, you can handle the equipment up into the low 20s relatively easily, and it's also easier to jibe than the Wings.
The SeaLion Wings options (7'6" and 8'6") have a broader general application, but a smaller foiling wind range than the AFS-1. It takes a bit more wind to get foiling on the Wings (+2 or 3 mph maybe, as compared to the AFS-1), and it's harder to control while foiling in stronger winds (over 20 mph). The strong point of the Wings, though, is all of the other stuff you can do on it- Regular SUP and WindSUP in Waves or Flatwater with the normal fin setup, SUP Foiling in waves, Windsurf foiling in flatwater or waves... You can take it just about anywhere and have a lot of fun on it! For one board, it does an awful lot of really fun stuff, in conditions that most windsurfers wouldn't normally get too pumped up to head out in.
Hope that helps, hit me up with any other questions!

Just out of curiosity, can the same foil be used in both boards?

the one and only time I went to Hatteras (spring 2015) , I brought my Mistral Equipe I for those light wind days
http://joewindsurfer.blogspot.ca/2015/05/joe-windsurfer-first-visit-finally-to.html
often I would be out on the Sound alone
now with the options of hydrofoil , perhaps there will be more wind vessels on the water ....
Q) are you considering adding foils to the rental fleet ??
holy cr*p - hurricane matthew s/b there NOW
GOOD LUCK !!!!

Hi Lucaro,
Yes, the same foil is used on both boards.
Joe- No, we do not currently have plans to put the foils in a general rental fleet.
Hurricane Matthew has come and gone at this point. Avon, and Salvo/Waves/Rodanthe are all relatively unscathed with just normal amounts of storm related flooding. The southern villages got hit much much harder though and experienced record flooding levels. Public access to the whole island will
be restored by Saturday morning (10/15/16).
