I was wondering if there is a list of drills one can do on land to practice rig handling? I would like to practice on land during cold months to get ready for the next season. Some specific instructions would be helpful too to practice everything correctly e.g. the correct ( most smooth) hand switch for duck jibe and ect. |

It's difficult to duplicate , since in most cases the board is turning. But IMO good for you.
The moves would be all and any that gives you hand and balance of the rig.
If you had a junk board .. set up on it. _________________ K4 fins

Andy Brandt gave a Sail Chi class a few days ago at the Kona Worlds . He recommended attaching a mast base to a large wooden board & using that outside in clean air to practice sail handling skills, both with only a mast & bare boom for learning moves and with a full rig to practice the moves with power in the sail. |
